Mission Statement

Milwaukee REIA’s mission is to provide the best quality and most timely training, education and networking opportunities to our members and to promote ethical business practices within our community. We pride ourselves in the positive and productive relationships we have with the city inspectors, code compliance offices, realtors, lenders, mortgage brokers and all the service providers and contractors we do business with in the course of our real estate transactions.

Code of Ethics of the Milwaukee REIA

The ownership and management of real estate is a highly regulated segment of the free enterprise system of the United States of America. As such, the members of the Milwaukee Real Estate Investors Association (Milwaukee REIA) must treat this enterprise with the utmost professionalism.

Milwaukee REIA members acknowledge that our association is an organization of people whose purpose is to promote our collective real estate investing success through education, networking and community service. In order to pursue these ends in a legal and ethical manner, all Milwaukee REIA members will be held to the highest standard of professionalism and integrity.

The Milwaukee REIA member recognizes the need for adequate housing and the preservation of a healthy living environment. Thus our members share a common responsibility to maintain and improve housing. The name Milwaukee REIA will be synonymous with competency, fairness and integrity.

Accepting these standards, every Milwaukee REIA member pledges to conduct his/her business in accordance with the articles set forth below:

  1. The member should keep himself or herself informed on matters affecting housing and real estate in their community and target market(s), including all local, state, and federal laws.
  2. The memberwill not discriminate against any person for reasons of race, age, religion, creed, sex, country of national origin, children, marital status or disability.
  3. The memberwill recognize that residents/buyers/sellers are customers and we are in the service industry.
  4. The member will acknowledge that a real estate investing business, when conducted properly, helps to return real property to its highest and best use, which ultimately leads to higher property values for our communities.
  5. The member will comply with all relevant public policies governing the health, safety and welfare of consumers; and protect them by using quality materials, workmanship and construction practices to provide safe, sanitary housing within the limits and guidelines of the governing laws.
  6. The member has an obligation to help another member whenever possible.
  7. The member will not engage in any illegal practices and always conduct themselves in a professional manner. Members will not misrepresent any material facts in their business dealings and will not cheat, take advantage of, or malign other members, property owners or residents.
  8. The member will act as a positive role model for the professions of real estate investing and housing providers when dealing with buyers, sellers, tenants, the public, the media, government officials and others.
  9. The member will be responsible for conducting their own due diligence in any and all business dealings.
  10. The member will not perform or cause to be performed any act which would tend to reflect badly on or bring Milwaukee REIA into disrepute.
